Do you want to know how I fought racism with one simple T-shirt design?
I have been doing graphic design, photography, and illustration for over five years now. However, I have recently dedicated my practice to impact the lives of other and the dreams which they
After many failed attempts to make something complex and monumental, I came up with the subtle IMAGO DEI design, which translates in Latin to the “image of God.” It was amazing to see individuals adorn themselves with a T-shirt that embodied the fact that their life has value and purpose.
I had a friend ask me if she could purchase an IMAGO DEI T-shirt for a friend who saw her wearing my design during the Black Lives Matter, and by the end of the week I sold 110 T-shirts in two and a half days. While many told me that they liked the design, it was the positive message behind the design that gave people hope, during a hard and uncertain time. One of the young ladies who ordered two shirts informed me that she gifted one of the shirts to her younger brother with severe autism because he too embodies the “image of God.” Apparently, after learning the message of the shirt, he wore it three days in a row.
The purpose of my design is to communicate the fact that everyone can join in the greater narrative of belonging to a royal family.
After selling those 110 shirts, I launched a graphic business that works with small businesses, where experienced or young entrepreneurs learn to promote themselves in a conscientious and proactive way. The reason I do graphic design is to help those who want to create a sense of emotion and belonging with their customers. Like I create apparel for people to feel as though they belong to a royal family, I want other companies to build a bridge for their audience to feel invited into the more remarkable story of their business.
My goal is to provide a unique brand identity and strategy for a client’s calling.
