The Black Cowboys Initiative is an original comic book series which features some of Americas most forgotten heroes of the West. The series utilizes the opportunity to share how very relevant racism in the past is to present-day racism, by revealing some aspects of racism that have become common microaggressions and prejudice today.
The illustrations use art historical references and include familiar racial tropes common in our social media to relate the past to the present day. The Black Cowboys Initiative should come off as optimistic, and the reader should enjoy it and desire to learn from it.
